Savage Ventures is seeking a Programmatic Sales Lead who will be responsible for selling programmatic (PMP/PG) deals across Savage Venture’ owned and operated and network properties. Sales will be focused on selling programmatic offerings to advertising clients, agency trading desks, and demand-side platforms. The role will work closely with marketing and account management to create programmatic sales collateral, post-campaign reporting, and explore campaign insights for optimization opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with sales leaders, operations teams, and product marketing teams to target prospective programmatic buyers. This person must be a flexible, cross-functional team player comfortable with a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous, environment.


  • Lead premium programmatic sales efforts (PMP/PG), working with a cross-functional team of company stakeholders (Client service managers, Ad Operations, Marketing, Revenue Operations, and Fullfillment) to drive overall programmatic revenue growth for Savage Media.
  • Manage and scale Savage Ventures’ premium programmatic sales efforts across our existing account list and new clients; selling  premium programmatic solutions to clients, agencies, trading desks and DSPs 
  • Maximize the revenue generated from premium programmatic channels across all screens and media types: desktop, mobile and video
  • Establish “always on” or evergreen programmatic (upfront) deals, as well as exclusive / private exchange deals for select buyers
  • Leverage outbound prospecting and lead generation to effectively target buyer personas and ideal brands to partner with
  • Identify all viable sales opportunities and catalog deal lifecycle details in our CRM (Hubspot)
  • Report progress to the upper management in status meetings and in written format
  • Develop engaging sales presentations backed by relevant data, case studies, and media plans
  • Work with marketing and customer service teams to ensure all client projects are delivered efficiently and issues get resolved expeditiously


  • 3+ years of digital media/cross-platform sales or buying experience (with 1+ years of digital experience in programmatic ad sales, revenue operations and/or business development)
  • Strong understanding of the programmatic media ecosystem (including exchanges, ad networks, DSPs, SSPs, DMPs, trading desks, etc.)
  • Experience working in a cross-functional capacity within a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
  • Familiarity with data orientation and use of data tools, e.g. Excel, Google Suite, and sales/CRM tools
  • Experience working with Google/GAM
  • Knowledge of online research methods, 3rd party research tools, and understanding of the facets of online advertising and ad metrics
  • Ability to effectively communicate through project management tools, including Asana and Slack
  • Customer service orientated with experience in a client-facing capacity
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Experience working with DSPs, SSPs, DMPs and both open auction bidding, private marketplace platforms, programmatic guaranteed platforms
  • Experience with data and targeting
